optional modules
The core VINx2 system provides all the functionality you would expect to run a commercial winery. However, some wineries have specialist needs and for that reason we provide several optional modules to help you operate at your most efficient.
Owner login and reporting module
The Owner login and Reporting module is ideal for any winery processing some or all wine under contract. It allows your clients to securely login to your VINx2 database, over the internet, and in their own time, to generate reports for wines that they own.
This can be a tremendous time saver, particularly over vintage where the information needs of your clients are high and the spare time of your staff and winemakers is low.

Wireless barrel barcode scanning module (delivery from July 2008)
Using the very latest in barcode and wireless mobile computer technology, VINx2 supports a truly wireless barrel scanning solution that frees your barrel shed staff from being tied to a desk or a docking station.
Cellar notes for barrel work (such as racking or topping) can be swiped by your cellar hands before scanning either a grouped or individual barrel as part of a job. The barrel list is then associated, in real time, to the work order saving your cellar hands from keeping a manual record of the barrels they've worked with.
Moreover, the wireless scanners can be used to interrogate any barcoded barrel and provide detailed information about the barrel and information about its contents - such as the composition, analysis history and batch information of a wine. New barrels arriving at the barrel shed can also be added via the wireless scanners and quickly associated to the physical barcode labels.
This module allows you to accurately track the location of each wine batch in barrel through and easy to use system of coordinates tying together the aisles (rows) and stacks in your barrel shed.
We will work with you to assess the wireless needs of your barrel shed and assist through all stages of the implementation.
Advanced inventory and warehousing (MRP) (due Q3 2008)
The VINx2 MRP module encompasses manufacturing, inventory and warehouse functions allowing wineries to completely manage the bottling and post-production side of winemaking. VINx2 distinguishes between dry-good/consumable stock and finished products allowing you to quickly manage stock levels and warehouse distributions.
The flexibility of VINx2's Bill of Materials (BOM) allows you to bottle your wine in one operation, label in another before finally packaging and shipping to your warehouse. Unlike typical manufacturing systems, VINx2's MRP module understands that a bottled wine is not necessarily the final product and may be disgorged, resealed, matured, labeled and boxed all before being ready for market. All this combined with stock forecasting and re-ordering intelligence makes VINx2's MRP module the ideal choice for wineries looking for a complete vine to distribution solution.
Sparkling wine module (due Q4 2008)
Not all wineries produce sparkling wine, but those that do know the pitfalls of trying to account for it using systems designed for table wine production. The VINx2 Sparkling module provides comprehensive support for sparkling producers and encompasses the additional winery operations of tirage, riddling and disgorgement.
Furthermore, this module distinguishes between a table wine and a sparkling wine in the system, allowing custom reports to be run based on product type. This distinction allows you to better account for the winery processes that occur on bottled stock and incidental losses that occur naturally as part of operations such as disgorgement.

VINx2 allows you to see the state of all vessels in your tank farm via the virtual cellar map that can be displayed on an LCD, Plasma or even projected against a wall.
